Auckland International Airport is on a journey – to create an airport experience to rival the world’s best. But right now, all New Zealanders can see is orange cones, roadworks and hi-vis vests. While work is underway, AIA wants customers to enjoy smooth, stress-free journeys. Our new ‘Looking Beyond’ brand platform enables us to share important updates and good news stories in a positive fashion. And nip any negativity in the bud. A bespoke pattern inspired by Māori and Pasifika tapa, reimagined with a bright, modern edge, became the visual backbone of the platform. Rolled out across 40 construction containers, which created a walkway, it transformed necessary infrastructure into bold storytelling surfaces that hinted at what’s to come. Billboards and TVCs extended the idea, ensuring travellers stayed informed, reassured and smiling.
