Manaaki Law

Manaaki Law is a firm which specialises in criminal and family law, located in Manukau, South Auckland. Manaaki Law are the beacon of light at a time of darkness for their clients. They honour mana (Māori belief referring to life-force) and, in return, enhance mana. The practice required a new visual identity that reflected its deep connection to community and place, while remaining culturally neutral and inclusive. The challenge was to create a brand that felt empathetic and human without aligning too closely to any single culture, maintaining trust, balance and professionalism. The resulting identity distils Manaaki Law’s ethos into a refined yet distinctive graphic system. Softness and restraint are balanced with clarity and confidence. A custom wordmark that expands into a modular pattern language and a colour palette that balances deep, grounding tones with softer accents that introduce calm and humanity. The system was designed for flexibility and longevity, and has been rolled out seamlessly across print, digital and environmental signage
